Katherine & Austin | Super 16mm Wedding Film in Los Angeles | Shot on Super 16mm film
Katherine & Austin’s wedding film was captured entirely on Kodak Super 16mm motion picture film, using my vintage Krasnogorsk K3 Super 16mm camera, a nostalgic and cinematic approach that defines the signature style of Ring Theory Films, based in Los Angeles, California.
Their beautiful celebration took place at the Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo, California, just outside of Los Angeles, a stunning hilltop venue with golden light, sweeping views, and timeless architecture that perfectly matched their elegant and modern vision.
When Katherine first reached out and said she wanted a “nostalgic look and feel” for her wedding video, I knew she came to the right place. At Ring Theory Films, couples often discover us while searching for Super 8mm wedding videographers in Los Angeles, but they stay for the cinematic magic of Super 16mm film, emotional, textured, and completely timeless.
From pre-production to the wedding day, Katherine and Austin were a joy to work with, kind, stylish, and deeply in love. Every detail, from their curated florals and table settings to the custom espresso bar labeled “The Riddles”, reflected their impeccable taste and creativity. Their wedding was full of love, laughter, and artful design, and I left inspired, reminded that real love still exists and deserves to be captured on real film.

Erik & Fernando Super 8mm Wedding Film at Bacari Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA
Captured on a nostalgic blend of Super 8mm film and digital video, Erik and Fernando’s wedding at Bacari Silver Lake was a masterclass in authentic, queer joy. As a documentary wedding filmmaker, meeting this couple a year prior at a friend's party made capturing their big day feel less like a job and more like documenting family.
Navigating the heteronormative "wedding industrial complex" can be daunting for LGBTQ+ newly engaged couples, which is why it was a profound honor to document this specific queer love story. Erik and Fernando chose my Mixed Media Wedding Video Package, blending the raw, timeless texture of analog film with high-definition digital storytelling. From their tear-jerking ceremony to the candid moments in the heart of Silver Lake, the depth of their connection is visible in every single frame.
The Creative Vision: Documentary & Analog
As a Los Angeles wedding videographer, I specialize in a documentary wedding film style that prioritizes feeling over posing. By utilizing Super 8mm wedding video and 16mm wedding films, I provide couples with a cinematic heirloom that feels like a memory looks. Whether you are looking for a local Los Angeles filmmaker or a travel wedding videographer for a destination celebration, my goal is to capture the unfiltered essence of your partnership.
