Okay… I do not say this about all of my weddings, but Laina and Bridget’s celebration might have been the most energetic, happy, exciting, and beautifully gay wedding I have ever filmed. Something special filled the air that day. Maybe it was their incredible family and friends, or the way everyone showed up with so much joy and love. Or maybe it was the drag king and drag queen performances that absolutely tore up the reception. Whatever it was, this wedding instantly became one of my top five favorites of all time.
Laina and Bridget found me and my photographer partner and close friend Anna T from Wildly Connected Photography because we are a queer photo and video team. And it truly matters. For LGBTQ+ couples, hiring queer wedding vendors means working with people who understand your identities, your story, and your love. You always deserve to feel safe, celebrated, and fully seen on your wedding day. That is something my team and I take seriously.
For this celebration, I captured everything on authentic Super 8mm film through my Mixed Media package. This hybrid approach blends half real Super 8mm analog film with half digital video. The result is a wedding film that feels nostalgic, emotional, modern, and completely unique. As a Super 8mm wedding filmmaker and Super 16mm wedding videographer, these formats allow me to tell love stories with texture, warmth, and a timeless documentary feel.
This wedding was also a travel wedding for me. I traveled from Los Angeles California to Minneapolis Minnesota to film their celebration at the beautiful Nicollet Island Pavilion. The day was planned by Dos Goats Plans with stunning florals by Rose Imaginative. Every detail came together perfectly for a documentary style wedding film with romantic editorial moments throughout.
If you are searching for a queer wedding videographer, LGBTQ+ wedding filmmaker, Super 8mm wedding videographer, Super 16mm wedding filmmaker, or someone who creates nostalgic mixed media wedding films, I would love to connect. You can explore more of my work at:
I am a gay wedding filmmaker based in Los Angeles and I serve couples across California, the Midwest, and destinations worldwide. I love filming weddings for gay, lesbian, queer, and trans LGBTQ+ couples. And yes, I absolutely love working with straight ally couples as well. Your love story deserves to be preserved with intention, honesty, and artistry.
If you are dreaming of a Super 8mm wedding film or a documentary style editorial wedding video, I would be honored to capture it.
